Hi Bears! Coach Andie is a native to the Bear Branch community and swam with the Bears for 13 years. She was a four time varsity swimmer for the Kingwood Park Lady Panthers and an All-State qualifier all four years. In 2018, she and her fellow coach Abby Bennett fought for a second place overall team finish for the Lady Panthers at State. Andie holds a couple of individual and relay records for the Lady Panthers. Currently, she attends the University of Notre Dame and is studying to be a Chemical Engineer. Coach Andie is looking forward to having a “Beary” exciting season with the coolest group of swimmers around! Let’s GOOOOO Bearsssss!!!
Hello! My name is Abby Bennett and I am so excited be back again for this swim season. I started swimming when I was I was four and started swim team at Sand Creek at age five until age 7, when I realized it was much cooler to be a BEAR!! I was in Blue Tide Aquatics for a total of 7 years and swim all four years on Varsity for Kingwood Park High School. I am now a retired swimmer, or in other words, a swammer. I am the oldest sister to two stinky, yet awesome brothers who are also bears. Swimming and all of my past coaches have made such an impact in my life and who I am as a person today. I hope I can somehow continue to positively influence others and show people how to love this amazing sport the same way I did. I’m currently finishing my freshmen year pursuing a Marketing degree at Texas A&M. I'm looking forward to taking on a productive season with awesome, hardworking bears. GOOOO BEARS
I am a senior at Kingwood High School! I am the captain of the varsity soccer team, the Vice President of National Honor Society and am involved in multiple clubs and organizations on campus. I plan on attending college in the Boston area and majoring in Marketing. Growing up I swam for 12 years for the MBW Marlins! Swim team was such a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to make the summer league experience even more fun than it was for me! I’m super excited to be a Bear this summer!! Go Bears!!
My name Owen Pickering and I’m very excited to be a part of Bear Branch Swim Team! I am a senior at Kingwood High School and this coming fall I will be a freshman at Texas A&M studying engineering. Over my seven years of swimming at Kingwood High, Blue Tide, and summer league, I have qualified for and scored at Ponderosa, TAGS, Sectionals, Zones, NCSA, Speedo Winter Juniors, and 6A State. This last summer, I worked as a swim instructor at the Lake Houston YMCA and loved it. I can’t be more excited to work for the best summer league team in Kingwood! Go Bears!
My name is Hollie Gille. I am a mom of 4 girls dubbed as the ”Gille girls” I grew up here in kingwood swimming for the village otters and BTA. Swimming was a family thing growing up and I have very fond memories of it. As I got older I developed a love for basketball and pursued that and had the opportunity to play collegiately for 4 years. Upon graduating I got my teaching certificate in k-12 physical education. I love teaching kids and have continued that love while raising my family. Over the past 11 years I have assisted and head coached various swim teams (year round and summer league) and created small leagues of soccer and basketball for young kids. I am excited for this opportunity and look forward to meeting y’all!
